2 Chronicles 7:14 – Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land.

Our nation under siege by those who want to destroy it.  With America is on the decline with illegal immigrants granted amnesty, restriction on freedoms guaranteed by our creator and our Constitution, and leaders of this great nation who either are evil or cowardice, it makes you wonder if there is any hope in sight.  A lot of times, it may seem easier to give up or give in.  However, there is another solution.

In the Old Testament verse, the target audience God is speaking to are the Israelites, God’s chosen people.  However, through Jesus Christ, everyone who has accepted Him as their personal Lord and Savior share in the same forgiveness and restoration as Israel would.  God is forgiving and it is in His nature to forgive those who humble themselves, repent, and turn to Him.

So with that said, when God’s people turns from their sin, humble themselves, pray and seek God’s face, He will forgive and heal us from past sin.  I also believe this includes healing our nation as God promised Israel to heal their land.

The root cause of decay and a nation falling to its knees is sin.  Sin is designed to destroy and separate us from God.  When sin takes hold, it leads to death, destruction, and ultimately fallen nations.  Sin of pride, selfishness, lust, and greed are contributing to the decay of America.

So, how do we see America restored to its original roots?  We do not try to fix it by electing more leaders, writing more laws, or preventative measures.  We fix it by fixing ourselves first.  As Christ followers, we must turn our face towards Jesus, seek His will, pray and repent of our wicked ways, and then we will see restoration.  We start fighting the current destructive tide by starting on our knees in prayer.
