1 Corinthians 4:8-10- We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and broken.  We are perplexed, but we don’t give up and quit.  We are hunted down, but God never abandons us.  We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going.  Through suffering, these bodies of ours constantly share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.  (NLT)
A squad is in the middle of a fire fight with an enemy three times the size.  The squad is being pushed back into a corner with little way to escape.  They are overwhelmed by shots fired, grenade attacks and rocket launchers as the enemy moves in even closer.  The RTO (radio/telephone operator) calls for reinforcements.  Moments later as the squad is at their last defensive position, Apache helicopters show up in the nick of time, laying gun fire down on the enemy forcing them to retreat.
Christians are being persecuted all over the world and some of the most heinous atrocities are being committed on the most innocent of people.  At home, we deal with a variety of hardships that leave us feeling overwhelmed and tired.  Hardships include losing a child unexpectedly or finding out of a terminal illness.  It can be as severe as being hunted by our enemy choosing to destroy us.
What do we do in these situations?  Most of us look for ways we can deal with problems, but with our own strength and mind.  This usually just leaves us discouraged and without hope.  However, Christ is our hope.  We may experience this hope in this life or the next, but if we hold onto the promises of Christ, we will overcome the world with Him.  When we call unto Christ, our redeemer and our protector, in His perfect time, He will rise up and decimate our enemy.
