Determined to be Determined

Determined to be Determined

Isaiah 50:7 – Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be dismayed.  Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do His will.  And I know that I will triumph.
It is in the middle of the third round, and our fighter is losing the fight.  This is his second time getting knocked to the ground, knowing the win will not go in his favor.  But, instead of choosing to stay down, he picks himself back up, ready to go again.  Unless he gets knocked out cold, he is not going to give up.
If there is anything a fighter or a warrior learns is determination.  Life in or out of gym or in the battlefield is no easy task.  There is no audience to cheer you on.  There are no margaritas or lawn chairs to ease your pain.  It is consistent sweat, pain, uncertainty, and blood that are the realities.  The real world is just as cruel.
Each and every day, there are people who are not noticed who choose to go the extra mile.  A mother wakes up in the middle of the night to care for her fifth crying child.  A father goes to a job he hates just so he can provide for his family.  A soldier is on his third night without sleep and only two meals because he is needed in the battle.  Determination is what drives us to finish our mission no matter what obstacles get in the way.
Jesus chose not to quit His mission to die for us.  He was determined to finish His course to save mankind.  As Christians, we should have the same red, hot, fiery passion to finish our mission, and look at Christ as our example.
