But you Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.  Psalm 86:15
As I read this verse, it is very clear that the Lord is very patient.  Time and time again, we turn our backs toward God, to do our own thing, be our own person, and do whatever we please.  This grieves our Heavenly Father, but instead of extinguishing us as we deserve, He has shown infinite mercy, grace, and patience towards us.  Not only that, He sent Jesus Christ to come take our place.  It humbles me to know what even as I screw up in my life, He is faithful to forgive me.
