Do Not Fight Alone

Do Not Fight Alone

Most men in general feel alone and isolated.  As we grow up, we experience adversity in our lives that tend to condition us to respond in a way that distances us from other people.  Often times, we get bullied or humiliated.  Other times, our trust has been betrayed, and as a result of these negative experiences, we learn to distance ourselves emotionally to others.  This is a very dangerous trap Satan can use to keep us in bondage.  Take for instance the following verse:
1 Peter 5:8 – Be self-controlled and alert.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.  Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are going through the same kind of sufferings.
I have learned in the past fifteen years or so, you need to build lasting relationships, especially with other men.   We cannot do life by ourselves.  It is proven that we will fail if we are left to ourselves and our will.  God places other men in our lives to fight alongside us.  We need someone to encourage us, correct us when we are not living according to God’s Will, and someone to challenge us so we can be more effective to God’s ministry.   Stand firm and be at the ready when Satan is ready to attack you.  We are a much harder target when we are growing within a band of brothers.
Always be on your guard and prepare to fight!
