Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.  Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.  But one thing I do:  Forgetting what is behind and straining forward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.  Phillipians 3:12-14
In this verse, Paul’s focus and goal is what Christ’s goal is for him and to continue striving towards that goal to becoming more Christlike.  We should not dwell on our past sins, or what lies behind us, but pressing forward.  As husbands, we should be more Christlike in how we conduct ourselves in our homes and with our wives.  We should not settle for mediocre, but continue being husbands as He calls us to be in Ephesians 5:25.  Fathers, raise up your children to revere and love the Lord their God and be an example for them.
