Strength in Christ

Strength in Christ

i-strength
2 Timothy 2:1-2 – Timothy, my dear son, be strong in with the special favor God gives you in Christ Jesus.  You have heard me teach many things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. (NLT)
Strength comes from Christ Jesus and Him alone.  When we succeed at something, we can have a tendency to be proud thinking it is from our own strength.  That pride turns into selfishness and we become me centered.  When this happens, our relationship with the Lord is strained, and relationships with other believers is damaging.
Trying to run our lives successfully will result in ruin.  When we see a lack of growth to what He calls us to, we are not being obedient to God, and we are not surrendering our will to Him.  Selfish ambitions, youthful lusts, and confidence in our own strength and wisdom will lead to ineffectiveness for His glory.
God gives us power to live transformed lives.  With that knowledge, we must pass that on to others.  We should not hold onto this great news to ourselves.  God transforms us from death to life through Christ Jesus, and it is a command to be shared to others as well.
When we share our faith with others, no matter the cost, we help change other’s lives and we find joy in that, and we grow in our faith towards Jesus Christ as well.
