Submission Creates Order

Submission Creates Order

Ephesians 5:21 – And further, you will submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
If you have ever been to a basic training graduation or experienced “drill and ceremony,” you will get to see a marvelous display in action that demonstrated perfect unity.  Each soldier steps at the same time in the same direction without skipping a beat.  Each soldier mutually submits to the platoon leader’s direction and he mutually submits to the soldiers on his left, right, and front.
In a marriage, mutual submission is vital for a strong, long-lasting, and fulfilling marriage. When a husband and wife mutually submit to each other, order is created and marvelous things happen.  For children in the marriage, they find stability in the home and parents who love them and are trustworthy.
God did not design marriage with mutual submission as a way to divide the identity of man and woman.  It is not about who is more important or who is better.  Each spouse has a specific role to play in marriage and when they play their role as God has intended it, the two parties in a marriage will not miss a step.
