Weapons of War

Weapons of War

We have righteousness as our weapon, both to attack and to defend ourselves.  – 2 Corinthians 6:7
Paul went through various trials and faced many hardships as he spread the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ where he was called.  He faced everything from jail time, no sleep, and no food some nights (2 Corinthians 6:5).  But God’s power was working through Paul by equipping him with righteousness as a weapon against spiritual foes.
Today as Christians, we are faced with persecutions and resistance as well.  In America, our resistance is not nearly as traumatic as Paul endured, but throughout the world, Christians are definitely suffering by torture and even death.  Just as Paul did not give up the fight to proclaim the truth, we must also persevere through whatever hardships we will face in our journey to follow Christ.
If you have to endure discrimination due to your faith, or you are facing execution because you will not renounce Christ as your Lord, endure.  Fight the good fight of faith in Christ Jesus.  Wield the power of the sword of the Spirit!  Use righteousness as your weapon just as Paul did and God will empower you to fight to the finish.
