2 Timothy 4:7-8 – I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Warriors are known to give everything they have, and to finish the fight. They give blood, sweat, and tears, and are consistently fatigued and stressed. Despite the hardships they face when they are up against a formidable foe, they show courage, strength, and resolve. They finish their objective; either by death or victory.
As Christians, we should have that same attitude when faced against the enemies of our day. We should never throw in the towel and just give up, no matter how tough our circumstances seem, the evil that is rampant around us, and especially not give up on the One that did not give up on us. The only way we should stop fighting the fight, is because Christ called us home.
Remember, Christ gave His everything through blood, sweat, tears, and all sorts of agony we cannot even fathom to imagine. So, while we are here in this battle for souls, let’s not just give up and stop trying. Let’s give everything we have as the warriors have shown through time, and finish in victory through Christ Jesus.
