Round Kick Workout

The round kick is a very powerful kick utilized by most martial arts today.  Used properly, it can dish out a devastating blow to your opponent and can cause significant damage.  This week, we performed this workout routine.  We developed round kick technique with damaging power. 


I have listed the workout we performed this week in case you want to try it at home.  It will help you develop technique, develop power, and improve conditioning.  It is intense, so use discretion if you feel any pain or health issues of any kind.

Slow Kicks – 10 repetitions each leg
Benefit: Develop proper technique

10 pushup

Front Leg Round Kicks using Muay Thai Pads – 10 repetitions each leg

10 pushups

Jab – Cross: Repetitions 10, 8, 6, 4, 2
Back Leg Round Kick: Repetitions 2, 4, 6, 8, 10
After each Jab-Cross combination perform the round kick. 
For example, (10 Jab – Cross, followed by 2 Round Kicks., etc.)

10 pushups
